I have had a case of policy mis-selling by ICICI Lombard for which I had followed up with the insurer for more than a month, but it was not resolved.
I then decided to take it to the ombudsman and correspondingly sent all the details to email@example.com as per the information given on the IRDA website. But since then no one has acknowledged my complaint and I dont even know if someone at ombudsman is looking into it.
I was browsing the IRDA site and saw that they also have an online redressal mechanism called Integrated Grievance Management System (IGMS) on which we can register a complaint and it is tracked via a token number. Havent tried it yet.
My question, What is the proper channel of taking the complaint to IRDA, is it ombudsman or IGMS. Does complaint to IGMS get forwarded to ombudsman or are they separate entities. Calling on the IRDA toll free number 155255 was not very helpful.
