Dear Sadagopal, Do you want to know about the policy holders’ money or the initial seed capital pitch in by the promoter? Please clarify.
Thanks
Ashal

Dear Mr.Ashal,
I want to know about the initial share capital, that has to be set aside , being invested in equities as per IRDA. This amount, i would like to – to be kept as a deposit or to be invested else where. If that is case, where to be invested is my question. Pls.clarify. thanks.

Dear Sadagopal, As far as I know, The amount pitch in by the promoter in a life insurance co. is not invested in share markets or bonds etc. It’s used either for having healthy solvency margin or for normal business related expenses like new branch opening, training of staff/agents etc.
Investments are done from the money received from policy holders be it traditional insurance policies or Unit Linked Policies.
