want to make Portfolio

I am Naveen Tiwari from Indore (MP). I am an MBA (Finance specialization) right now i m working with Emkay Global Financial Services Ltd.as a Relationship manager.i wont to be a good Portfolio manager. what i do i dont understand how to i started.

    Your question is too vague. Please restate what exactly you want to ask?

    You need to learn how other good Managers (portfolio / fund including long-only and hedge) work, their philosophy.

    On valueresearchonline, there is a short interview with a lot of fund managers. go through it, you will come to know what and how do they think and behave. what kind of people they read, etc.
    Read a lot of books written by a lot of these managers.
    Interact with fellow managers, both within emkay and outside.

    Read this forum. there is a lot of advise there. You may go through them and see what you think. How would you have approached a particular problem? What kind of modifications you would have suggested?

    With your academic knowledge, you can surely improve things here too. 🙂
