Waiting period before transfer of EPF

Hi guys,

I recently joined another organization, and the HR here tells me that we have to wait before applying for transfer of EPF account.

I was under the impression that the waiting period is only applicable for withdrawl.

Kindly tell me what is correct.

    @Ahmad Zaib.

    Wait for end of this month.
    As per newspapers & sources the testing of online pf transfer is almost in the last stage so it will be sooner online.

    Zaib,
    I am not aware of any waiting period. However, it is always a good idea to wait for atleast a quarter just in case your earlier company had delayed paying your PF funds.

    You don’t loose any interest in the mean time. Hence I believe it is not of a significant concern. However, in this process do not forget to transfer your PF else after 3 years your earlier PF account will become dormant and interest will stop accruing on it.
