What is the procedure for transferring a “minor” PPF account from “Post office” to “State Bank of India”?
Please note:
1. I said MINOR account.
2. I know that form “SB10B” has to be used for transfer but not aware of the entire process.
3. Is SBI opening MINOR PPF ACCOUNT?

also the procedue and forms are different for target and destination Anand and ashal

    1. Dear Sunil, I provided a generic reply. I’m sorry, if my reply was not up to your expectation. On one hand you are asking for account transfer & on the other hand, you are asking for new account opening. That’s why I replied that way. Any way, I’m sorry once again for you. Please do needful as per SBI staff, after all they ‘ll do the work.

      Thanks

      Ashal

sbi is not opening any new minor account now a days and hence minor word is imporant here

  4. Anand says:

For transfer of PPF, one can give form to either origin or destination.
I did my PPF transfer from SBI Chennai to SBI Bangalore; and I submitted the transfer request to SBI Bangalore.

    Ashal is not misguiding anybody.

It doesn’t matter whether PPF account is in minor’s name or major’s name.

    ashal.

i want to transfer a MINor ppF account from post office to sbi. (please read question again)

also the form is to be given to po and not sbi….

please do not misguide other members…

  6. Dear Sunil, if the minor in question is already running a PPF account in PO, you can’t open another one in SBI.

To transfer the existing PPF account from PO to SBI, first of all please update the PPF passbook. Keep scanned images or photostat copies of the same for your personal record. Contact the SBI branch, where you want to transfer the PPF account. Fill the form & hand over the original passbook. SBI ‘ll do the rest of the job & within 2-3 months, the account ‘ll be transferred to SBI.

By the way due to sheer work load & no benefit from PPF account, SBI staff may discourage you to get it transferred or even may try to cross sell any other product (preferably an insurance policy). So be ready for that situation in advance.

    Thanks

    Ashal
