I have recently taken a Home secure policy ( Home Insurance ) from Tata AIG.The Representative from Tata AIG asked me for a asset list before the initiation of policy.I send the asset list to the representative thru E-mail.Tata AIG issued the policy after my cheque payment for the premium amount was cleared and I received the paper policy document after 3 weeks.
However I found that the policy schedule did not include all the contents in my asset list.So I contacted the representative thru E-Mail and got a reply that
\’This is with regards to the home policy bearing the number xxxxxx.
The contents listing provided by you remains incorporated in the policy xxxxx and it\’s difficult to mention all the contents in the policy schedule.\’
Please note that all the above communication was thru E-Mail.
Please let me know if this is correct ?. In case of a Claim denial in the future,can I use the e-mail communication as a proof ?.
