Senior citizen health insurance – Are there any options ?

POSTED BY Landcruiser ON February 8, 2014 7:48 pm ONE COMMENT

Hi,

I recently applied for health insurance policy for my father in law with Star Health (Red carpet policy). When I applied online it declined saying that with the details provided it cannot issue policy online. Later call center official called and gave another link to use. I told that his age is 62 and he has already gone through angioplasty once. They said it is all fine, just share the reports. After I paid the amount they issued the policy and I also sent the reports.

Within a week they rejected the policy citing the health conditions. Is there any other good product in market for such senior citizens without too many catch and caveats even if the premium is somewhat high. I see that lot of plans from MaxBupa are very expensive and from the traditional insurance companies (New India, LIC ) are too restrictive. Anyone can share details on a balanced insurance plan?
