SBI PPF E-statement as tax proof

Hi,

I have a PPF accounty in SBI. I have downloaded the Account statement in PDF format which contains a SBI logo in the header and transaction details. Can I use this PDF only as a incometax Proof while submitting Form 16 through company. I don’t have access to the pass book now. Please advise.

    branch where you have account. In today’s core banking era any manager could sign but probably won’t!

    In case I need to attest, can I go to any nearest SBI branch or I need to go to the branch where the account resides?

    If the file also contains your PPF acc no, and your name it should be enough for the company to give you form 16. If you have any issues you can always attest it from the branch which will make it more official.

    In any case you don’t need to submit such documents while filing returns.
