RSU – Perquisite tax and income tax

POSTED BY vivek kumar pai ON October 26, 2013 12:26 am ONE COMMENT

Hi,

I have RSUs allocated by my company. The stock is not traded on any Indian exchange. When vesting, I have already paid the prescribed perquisite tax.

However, the stock is trading higher by about $10.00 than when it vested. What is the income tax that I need to pay? Is it 33% of $10.00 per stock ($3.3 per stock)? Or is there a different way to calculate this tax?
