Refund reissue in case of offline return

Sir,

I filed my IT return offline in A.Y. 10-11. A refund cheque was received to me but on that date the cheque has been expired. Please suggest and clarify, can I send request letter by Post to A.O. for reissue refund cheque ?

    Yes.

    As such the date will not be extended, but a new cheque will be issued. Please contact ITO from which the cheque is generated or CPC Bengaluru for details.

    In case of any issue, income-tax ombudsman can be contacted.
