open demat account for investment in stocks

Hi

I am NRI, where can i have my demat account (which bank /broker)?? it should be beneficial in terms of brokerage and other charges and the service… your reply will be of great help for me.

    Hi Vijaya,

    If you have NRE account with local India bank you can easily open DEMAT account. ICICIdirect, HDFC provides the facility.

    Private banks in India will suggest for PMS. Do not opt for the same since the fees charged are higher and returns are not guaranteed.

    You first need to open a PIO account with a bank, which is mandatory in case of NRIs.
