Hi All,
I have taken SBI home loan in dec’13 but today I got to know that you have file Notice of Intimation within 30 days of your mortgage which for me has clearly passed.
I spoke to RACPC pune branch & they told me that they have dispatched the letters stating the same to all the loans holders but I havent received the same till date.
So now my ques is what are the consequences of not paying the fees for Process of Intimation?

Hi All,
I visited RACPC pune for notice of Intimation issues & I was pleasantly surprised to know that it was filed by SBI & I already had the receipt of the same.
The Receipt was in Marathi & I was ignorant about it. So in my case this is done.
Its for Maharashtra only.

Dear all, my property is in Gujarat and I also received the same letter. As I’m out of India, hence not in position to do anything. Hence just sitting on the letter. 🙂

Only Maharashtra as far as I know
Is this something specific with Maharashtra state only or is this applicable all over India?

Thanks for the replies.
I will go to bank tomorrow & check for the proof of delivery(office copy) of letters as I also need to be sure that bank has paid the stamp duty.
I am also not sure what is the penalty in case I miss that deadline. I couldn’t find it on net either.
Based on the info I will see what needs to done in future & will keep you posted on the same.

If SBI claims that notice was sent to you, ask them for proof of delivery.
But in any case, if you read the rules, it is the mortgagors responsibility to file the notice of intimation within 30 days of paying stamp duty on the loan. The bank shall only tell you when they have paid stamp duty and pass on other attested documents to you so that you can file the intimation notice. Clearly bank has not done so.
Rule regarding what happens if you do not file the notice of intimation within 30 days is not very clear. Some say you have to pay 1% of the loan amount, but I have not read this on RBI site or any authentic govt site. If someone tells you to pay that much, ask them for govt circular mentioning the same.
For now, you should just keep quite and claim that bank did not inform you regarding any such procedure to be done.
Dear Pankaj, if some notice has not arrived at you, delivered to you, why are you bothered about it? Let SBI send 2nd reminder notice to you and you can take corrective actions at that time.
