Non resident Indians from UK can now invest “online” in etf’s traded on secondary markets in India.

Greetings,

For some time non residents based in UK were not allowed to invest in the exchange traded funds such as goldex and nifbee etc “online” in India. Though this was allowed offline.

I have now confirmed in my icicidirect account that this restriction has been removed and now non resident Indians from UK can invest freely in the ETF’s online in India.

Thought of sharing this good news as since long I have been following up with icicidirect and Benchmark funds for this facility. I am more happy. Common sense prevails.

best regards

Siddharth.
