ONAll:
I’ve been trying to find some debt funds to invest lumpsum to do STP towards my SIP in Franklin and Sundaram funds, but couldn’t find anything? Either the returns/ratings are not good or the initial investment (50 L in case of Franklin Templeton India Inc Builder) is too high.
Any ideas what to do? Just keep money in the bank and do a SIP? Or maybe my reasearch is flawed?

Dear Rmohan, For Sundaram you may invest in Ultra Short Term retail.

Thanks

Thanks Ashal, but it’s sad that a fund giving sub-par performance is the best option available in Sundaram…
Dear Rmohan, even for that sub par performance you are able to earn better return than your SB account. Should I add more as reply? 🙂
Thanks
Ashal
Dear Rmohan, by the way, why are you investing in Sundaram AMC at all? May I know the reason?
Thanks
Ashal
Dear Ashal,
I’ve used to have SIP in Sundaram Select Midcap and it has accumulated a little bit. So, I’m just doing alert SIP (via fundsIndia) into the same.
Do you think I should switch over to some other fund? But I would like to have the same kind of return ratio without higher risk and preferably in midcap space
Dear Ashal,
Waiting for your response on this
Thanks,
Ram
Dear Ram, IDFC Prem. Eq. is a better choice in midcap space.
Thanks
Ashal
Debt funds will yield more than a Bank account on any day so even if its yield is not the best in its category any Debt fund in that particular fund house is good enough to park money for a STP!
templeton india ultra short term bond fund is the suitable fund for STP from liquid to equity fund, as i understand.
Hi Bharath,
Thanks for that. The reason I left out this as an option is because it’s less than 5 years old. But seems that there is no choice…
Any suggestions for Sundaram AMC?
Thanks,
Ram
