ONHello,
Firstly I would like to commend the manish/jagoinvestor forum for helping folks like us getting better at financial planning. thx for your time.
My requirement : Need to park funds for buying house in next 2-3 years. Based on short discussion with couple of folks, I am planning to park these in short term funds.
However to be honest I have no clue how to decide which fund. I can look at returns for past 5 years or so, credit quality. What all to look at?
One advidor suggested following options:
HDFC high interest STP
ICIC Pru short term
SBI short term
but if I look at cirisl/valuereasearch ranking wise these are low… and Tata short term bond fund seems high…
Please provide your expert advise specially which can help me pick funds next time :).
Amount: ~3-5 lakhs
thanks.

Rating is given for short term performance…. Don’t go just by rating…. just compare few funds which performed well in previous ‘X’ years…. and decide….
‘X’ can be any value depending on your interest…. may be 2,5,10 or any number of ur wish….
