Loan inquire affects CIBIL Score?

I am planning to take a home loan and will be inquiring in couple of banks to find lowest interest rate and some other things. I had read it somewhere that inquiring about loans (or something similar to it) affects your CIBIL score, is it true?

    I meant talking to the branch staff and getting more information..

      Dear Manohar, these primary inquiries with several banks ‘ll not affect your cibil score. Please go ahead & contact as many banks as you want to.

    Dear Manohar, here inquiry means putting your financial papers as a file to each bank or merely talking to the branch staff? Please clarify your thing?
