Intimation of Rs. 10 from Income tax Department

Hi,

I just got an intimation from CPC, Bangalore on the IT return filed for AY 2013-14. There is a demand of Rs.10 (Rupees TEN only) for the AY 2013-14 and I am suppose to pay the dues in next 30 days.

The due worked out because of small calculation difference in tax calculations and thus the demand is generated.

I would like to ask should I pay Rs.10 now or should this be adjusted in my next year’s return, if I pay Rs.10 extra in my self assessment tax.

    Dear Ashish, the demand is raised due to rounding off of your income by CPC software. In my personal opinion, you may chose to ignore this year and get it adjusted in refund next year or can pay extra next year.
