Interest on PPF

Recently Government has declared rate of interest as 8.8% for F.Y.2012-13.My PPF a/c is opened 2 years back.Does it mean that I will get 8.8% for this F.Y.When I opened PPF the rate was 8% hence this question.

    PPF interest is calculated on per month basis . So what your interest will be calculated as per the prevailing rate of interest .
