ideal credit score time and frequency

I have decided to get my CIBIL credit report and score each financial year. Is this a good frequency for monitoring my score or should it be looked at more frequently?

Also, how quickly is the recent data updated and used? In other words, if I want the score to be based on the data till March of an year, when should I apply (say in April, May or later?)

    Dear nsabhayankar. Once in year is OK to check. Regarding the data updation, please check after may 2013 for March 2013 data.
