Long time wrt evaluating a fund is at least about 3yrs. I hold HDFC equity and my investments recovered in the 2012 last quarter rally. Then it fell again. I continue to hold it.
One because of its past performance, two because it is a risky fund and is expected
Trouble is all other funds have behaved similarly more or less. So even if you exit where else will you invest?
See its performance wrt benchmark. In the long run it is way above the benchmark. A MF cannot do much more than that!
Hold on to it. When the market rallies you will profit. If you want you could then book some profit into some safer instrument if you want to hold onto some gains.
Dear Sonal, is it for you or the general performance? What’s the performance with respect to it’s benhcmark?
Thanks
Ashal
In last two years, the net return form this fund is -ve.
Dear Sonal, how are you evaluating performance of HDFC Eq?
Can you elaborate?
thanks
Ashal
