Forgot to transfer shares – now what??

Hi everyone –

I bought physical shares in 2006 but got them transferred very late and with great difficulty and help from the broker (who had got in touch with the original seller). The company issued a bonus and these bonus shares have gone to the original seller, since I didn’t transfer the shares on time… Is there anything I can do now to get these bonus shares? My purchase date is before the bonus date and book closure.

    Dear Ram Goyel, Please contact the original owner of those shares either directly or though the broker & ask him/her to transfer those bonus shares to you. Technically as you were not the registered owner of shares on the record date of bonus shares due to failure from side to get transfer of shares in time, the bonus shares belong to the original share holder.
