ELSS – Impact of DTC

I have recently started an SIP in HDFC Tax saver.
Is it true that the tax benefit can be availed ONLY till next year as per the provisions of DTC? Will I get the benefit only for FY2012-13?

    Rohit,
    You are correct. ELSS expires 31-3-2013 unless the DTC code comes up with surprises. Hence if you have any SIPs into ELSS for tax purposes, you may want to place SIP stop requests in March 2013 as the tax benefits won’t be available after that.
