Documents Required for PPF transfer from SBI to ICICI Bank

Dear All,

I am sharing some details about transfer PPF account from SBI to ICICI bank transferred will be considered as continued account.

  • New account opening form (Form A)
  • Passport size photograph
  • Nominee registration Form E (Optional)
  • PAN Card Copy
  • Bank Statement/Pass Book (Since inception)
  • Transfer-in cheque/DD
  • Customers having ICICI Bank relationship>5 years, residence proof is required

In case of individual opening an account on behalf of minor, birth certificate of minor to be submitted along with above documents.

We request you to follow the below process for transferring of PPF account. Please approach bank branch/Post Office where the PPF account is held. There is no specific format for transfer out except Post Office which has specific format for transferring out PPF account

Submit application stating ICICI Bank designated branch address details for transferring the PPF account.

Once the application is processed, the existing bank/Post Office will send original documents such as a certified copy of the account, the account opening application, nomination form, specimen signature etc.  along with a cheque/DD for the outstanding balance will be handed over to you

Once you receive all the necessary documents, they may be submitted at the  ICICI Bank designated branch along with fresh account opening form(Form A) and nomination form (Form E/Form F incase of change of nomination), along with original passbook

Existing bank (SBI or Post Office) can also send the documents along with cheque/DD directly to ICICI Bank designated branch

The transfer process takes maximum 15 days.

    I have gone through almost the same process of tranfering my PPF from SBI to ICICI.
    Detailed experience is listed below. Only one point in case of ICICI is important that SBI sends the documents directly to the designated ICICI branch. Pls do not take personal handover. I faced a complication there.
