Hi. Manish
After reading articles only from jagoinvestor i purchased a term plan from HDFC of SA 60 lac for term of 30 yrs in Feb 2013. My age is 29 yrs. online but from HDFC bank. now after 9 months while reviewing policy documents i found that i have wrongly mentioned that my father is non hypertensive but actually he is. Now what should i do? Will in future policy will get rejected.

Second thing though after insisting for medical checkup from my side the bank personnel said that its not necessary and they issued policy.

One reply on this article “Did not disclose illness of father in Term Insurance, Will it get rejected ?”

Dear Ruraja, please declare the fact to your insurer now. it ‘ll act as a positive thing in your favor. If any prem. loading is to be done, the same ‘ll be there and you need to pay it.

Depending upon the sum assured, the prem. may not be enough to cover medical costs, hence below a cut off point, insurers do not ask for medical check up.

    Thanks

    Ashal
