DEMAT FOR RGESS

POSTED BY SIVA PRASAD RAVIRALA ON March 8, 2013 10:54 pm ONE COMMENT

Dear Sir,

I opened one Demat a/c with HDFC in 2009 but not operated. I do not know whether it is active or not now in Hyderabad. Later on when I moved to Aurangabad, I opened Demat A/c with ICICI in 2011, which I operated (bought shares and sold in few months) and closed the A/c in 2012.

1. Am I eligible for IT deduction in RGESS scheme, if I opened the Demat A/c now again? How the first time investor will be ensured by IT Department?

2. As the RGESS is new plan, how to know in which fund (ICICI,HDFC,QUANTUM ETC) to invest in RGESS Scheme as there is no past data available?

Please help.

  1. Dear Siva, as you had done transactions in your old but now closed demat accounts, you are no more a new investor. So you are not eligible for RGESS.

    Thanks

    Ashal
