Demat account number to be carried from ICICI to Axis bank?

POSTED BY Sunil Kumar ON May 3, 2011 12:13 am COMMENTS (3)

I am planning to open a Demat account in Axis bank and close the account with ICICI.  Is it possible to carry the same Demat account along with the shares, MF’s… that I hold in ICICI to Axis account?  Please let me know more on this.

Thanks

Sunil Kumar

  1. Every broker will open your demat account either under NSDL or CDSL. Some brokers have both the options while opening the demat account while some have only one. You need to check from the customer support department of the broker before you sign the application form.

    Hope it will help you.

Thanks. Can I do it from CDSL to NSDL and viceversa?

  3. You can transfer all your demat holding from one account to another. But new demat account will have new number.

    Hope it will help you.
