demand draft scheduled bank

Some will find it stupid. But its a genuine doubt.

I have an email from college that states

” You are required to deposit the admission fee of Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand Only) by A/C payee draft in favour of “ XYZ College”.The demand draft must be drawn on any scheduled bank, payable at Delhi and must be posted to us

My queries: What do they mean by any scheduled bank? Do they mean Public Sector Banks? To my knowledge all the three – Public Sector, Private Sector & Foreign Banks – are scheduled Banks.

How will the college trace that the particular DD is mine and not some other candidates’. The DD wont have my name. Especially if my Dad makes the DD from his account for my admission.

What do I go and tell the executive in the Bank? I want a DD of so and so amount, payable to xyz at Delhi and draw it on any scheduled bank?

Thanks

  1. Any RBI approved bank(!) should do.

The only requirement is a A/C Payee draft. Why should the college care where the money comes from.

Go tell the bank you want a A/C payee DD in favor and fill out the form along with the withdrawal slip with your fathers bank acc and his signature. The bank will take care of the rest. You can also pay cash of course.
