ONI had a credit card which is in written off status, the total amount written off is Rs. 8156. Last payment was made on 9-11-2006 and DPD is 606 as of 23rd August 2013 according to the CIBIL Report. My various attempt to contact and clear off the dues and get NDC from Phoenix Arc went unsuccessful.
I learnt that as per the guidelines, CIBIL will maintain the bad credit history for 7 years. In would like to know, based on what date the CIBIL removes the record? Is it from last payment date or DPD plays a role in this? I am looking for a housing loan. Your answer plays significant role in making decision.

Dear Raghu, CIBIL says, it ‘ll maintain for at least 7Y. it does not say that it ‘ll not maintain after 7Y. In your case, it’s in your own interest to declare this default on your own while applying for your home loan.
thanks
