Commodity and Currency Investing

POSTED BY Ram ON September 27, 2010 11:17 pm COMMENTS (2)

I’m aware of sites that allow buying futures of commodities and currencies. However, I’m not yet fully confident of entering futures/options.

Is there a way to invest in commodities and currencies from India in a way that is sort of delivery-based. Like if I want to buy a commodity like Corn…how do I invest in a kind of e-Corn rather than betting on whether Corn prices will fall or not in the next expiry period?

Same question for currencies. If I want to invest in the USD or Euro, how do I buy the currency as such and not the future? What are the trading platforms for this?

Thanks,

Ram.

    Hemant,

I said I’m not confident of entering derivatives. And I probably will not as well. However, my question is regarding commodities and currencies as such, not their futures/options.

I do look forward to investing in commodites and currencies as such. The operative word is “investing” and not trading (which would be the case with derivatives).

    Regards,
    Ram.

So better don’t enter. Keep your financial life simple. 🙂
