   Hi Ashal, I totally agree with you. I am also IT Engg & taking interest in understanding the finance.

   But my friend who is BCom fresher. So to highlight himself in marketm he wants to add some certification in his resume… thats the reason I was asking this information.

      There are tons of resources on net for CFP , however just want to communicate that CFP is overrated when it comes to the kind of salary , kind of job you can get . Most of the CFP’s I talk to complain about no jobs and low salaries . the issue is that its marketted in a wrong way . CFP is mostly for someone who is passionate in pursuing and setting up his advisory practice in India. He wants to deal with people and their money issues .

      So if he is just looking at CFP certification to add another feather on his resume , then it might not help a lot , as he will get mostly sales job in high probability .

   Dear Amit, myself or anyone from my known friends have not used services or any EP, hence can not comment. My personal thought, more than the education, the person who is pursuing CFP, should have an internal passion for personal finance & speciaLy to help people on these matters.

   I’m not sure that you are aware or not – THE top most contributors in this forum are from non finance back ground.
