Can some one provide me Citibank Home Loan review ?

Hi All,

I’m looking to apply for a CITIBANK HOME LOAN, ROI 10.25% for 20 months, later it will be floating(BR+1%), No prepayment charges, No PreClosure charges, Application/Processing fee(including Legal fee-Valuation fee – Franking Charges, NO EM Charges, Stamp duty charges) is INR(Rs).12641.00/-. I’ve seen some fluctuating reviews on CITIBANK HOME LOAN(majority are negative). I would need all your expert advice on this. Request you to please be specific and precise as much as possible. I’m considering the reviews for my Home Loan comparison excel sheet which I’m preparing.

Your suggestions would save a human, from these INHUMAN Home Loan officers!!! 🙂

Dear Guru, as it’s going to be self construction, then opt for SBI with out doubt.

    Thanks

    Hi Ashal,

That was a quick response 🙂

I’m not under any pressure from builder – as its my own Individual house construction. So my worry is to not run between for the partial disbursements…. Did you buy/construct ??

Which other banks would you suggest ?

    Thanks,
    Guru

Dear Guruprasad, I can not comment for others but I do have personal experience of SBI passing loan in 15 days flat to taking 10+ months. My own loan was passed in 15 days flat whereas for some of my friends in 1 month to 2-3-………10+ months. So it’s a mixed response. Personally I w’d prefer to go with SBI, as the delay in processing is actually working in our favor as SBI ‘ll make sure that property papers are in order and every thing is correct.

In case you are in builder pressure to pay ASAP, still go with any bank other than CITI. Reason – as the idea is to switch to SBI later on, you do not need Max Gain type product.

    Thanks

    Hi Ashal,

I’ve consideration for SBI too… but disbursement from SBI takes lot of time and the pain to run behind the Bank for disbursement during the construction would be a multiplied-pain right ? So, i was just considering to go for CITI initially and later shift to SBI…. Here I purely want to list all the hick-up points from CITI… because I know SBI is the best over any other banks for home loans.

Is my idea good/ok/bad ??? Please advise.

    Thanks,
    Guru

Dear Devendra, IDBI do have similar product with name Interest saver but the interest rate there is 0.5% + regular loan interest rate.

    Hi Ashal,
Actually I have already taken loan from PNBHFL for 30L out of which 25L has been disbursed, but the rate of interest is 10.75. so i was thinking of transferring the loan to other bank/institution.
As there is no precloser charges from PNBHFL. so i was thinking of taking smart home loan, like maxgain from SBI, Smart home loan from HSBC or from CITI, out of which HSBC is not giving on my property so i was looking for another option as citi.
is there any other bank which have such kind of home loan
    Thanks

Dear Devendra, if few banks are not offering loan on a particular property, is it not an indication or at least warning sign for you? By the way from your query, it seems you do not have option other than CITI bank. In such case no review ‘ll help you as you need CITI to close your deal not the other way around.

    Thanks

Dear Guru, my counter question to you, why are you opting CITI and not SBI or any other bank? Any specific reason to go with CITI?

    Thanks

    Ashal
