ONDear Friends,
Pl. let us know, is it mandatory to have Trading Account with any Stock brokers to sell the Shares which are in De-mat form. Can we sell the Shares allotted in FPO without having Trading A/c (as similar to selling Mutual funds).
Thanks in advance. Regards, Jhaji

thanks Mr. Ashal for your info. Regards, Jhaji
Dear Jha, companies do provide buybacks directly but this can not be a commomn thing for all the stocks in your portfolio. Also in the first place company issued the stocks to common public to raise money for it’s own needs, it was never the original intention to buyback from the market.
You are confusing yourtself for MF Units to Stocks.
Thanks
Ashal
Dear Jhaji, if you do not have a trading account, you can not sell your shares in market (stock exchange). But you can sell these shares in off market to any interested person.
Please do note – as the transaction ‘ll be off market, you ‘ll not be paying STT and hence your gains ‘ll not be tax free. You w’d have to pay tax on your gains. Here i’m referring to Long Term Capital Gains.
Thanks
Ashal
thanks Mr. Ashal for your comments. However, I feel, there should be some option from the company to direct buy back (as similar to mutual fund direct disposal).
Anyhow, thanks for your comments.
