Can I reach Rs 3 lacs target by investing in mutual funds

Hi,

I have started to invest  in HDFC Balanced funds and Franklin Blue Chip In SIP of 2 thousand each for 5 years .My goal is to acheive 3 lakhs.

Is it possible? I have started in August 2013 SIP

    Dear Satheesh, a plain NO. There is no guarantee of performance in market linked products. With each passing SIP, the time available in hand to let the Eq. part perform ‘ll go down & the risk ‘ll increase in a big way. Be ready for a tough ride. Personally I w’d recommend to increase your SIP amount and all money in 1 fund only, a liquid fund or a short term fund.
