I started investing in ICICI prudential pinnacle super lp highest nav fund b four years back.I am paying yearly premium 1 lakh.I paid for the last 4 years.This is the last premium.However returns are horribly just 8 percent. Fund is sucking away units on various pretexts like insurance, PAC, FMC, policy administration charges.I am just undecided whether to pay this last premium or just put it in fixed deposit.The surrendering is only next year.Please advice your view.

I have payed total 25 lacs (5lacs x 5 years) in ICICI Pru Pinnacle Super -LP. This year January I payed my last premium. Next year (2017) January I want to surrender my policy. Any idea what can I expect as lumpsum ? Pankaj Kumar

Check with ICICI as I believe you can come out of the policy one month after paying the last premium. I think paying last premium will make more sense as it is the last premium. Post 1 month after last premium, you can come out anytime and invest the money in lumpsum in mutual funds for long term to grow. I think if you don’t pay the last premium and you close the policy, the accumulated return will not be that great, I think. you can check out the surrender value as well before you decide to pay or not.
