Best Investment Strategy for Debt / Equity ?

Hi All,

Request you to put your valuable comments about the best investment strategy for Debt as well as Equity products?

For example:

POMIS ( post office monthly scheme) + RD  ( recurring deposit )is a good strategy of investment for Debt prodcuts with no risk.

Please comment your inputs!

The idea is to explore the knowledge for all’s benefit. Please put your thoughts / suggestions.

  2. Regarding debt, remember you need to consider your return post-tax and inflation. Yes, it is a safe heaven but I would suggest to divide your debt portfolio in post office, Gold & FMP. If you’ve taken any ULIP, you can switch some funds to debt funds there to get tax-free returns.

    Regarding Equity, my suggestion will be balanced fund if you’re new in mutual funds; otherwise equity diversified funds are better. Remember to have atleast 5 years of time horizon and always invest via SIP mode.

    Some good schemes are:
    HDFC Prudence Fund
    HDFC Top 200 Fund
    Reliance Regular Savings Fund – Equity
    etc.

      I understand the risk and reward in each of the category.
      Here I am looking for optimization of method / product combination to yeild maximum gain in each category. it could be single or mix or multiple products or just diferent methods.
      I like the SIP idea.

      Please suggest some more methods.
