    Hi Siva,

Bank FDs issued by reputed Public and Private bank have strong credit rating and do not default.

In case of Cooperative Bank FD or Company FD chances of default are on higher side.

Be careful since FD interest rate offered by Cooperative and Company is higher (Risk is also higher)

  2. Bank FD’s are 100% safe but with little lower interest as compared to company FD. There is always risk associated with company FD’s. One can check their rating by rating agencies like CRISIL before investing.

You can have a good article on same on http://jagoinvestor.dev.diginnovators.site/2010/04/are-company-fixed-deposit-safe.html

    Hope it will help you.
