Do I need to avail all sanctioned home loan amount?

POSTED BY Shailesh ON January 25, 2015 6:13 pm COMMENTS (3)

Hi,

I have sanctioned 10L home loan amount from HDFC for my home. But I have buffer amount of 2L still available which I am planning to give to builder instead of home loan from bank. So is it fine if I avail only 8L (or minimum) loan from bank against the sanctioned/approved amount? Are there any clauses or any hidden policies?

Kindly help.

Thanks

    Thanks Ratan.

I have sanctioned 10L loan from HDFC bank but I would like to take only 6L from bank and remaining I can pay to builder from my own pocket. In this case, bank will ask any clarification to me or any hidden clause is there?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, the loan amount can be changed any time before disbursement. Any increase in loan amount will however be subject to the eligibility conditions. The bank might also charge you excess fees on requesting an increase in the loan amount. However, the bank is not obliged to return excess fees paid in case you are requesting for a reduction in the loan amount.
