ONMy employer has provided health insurance cover worth 9 lacs.
I am not sure how long will i be continuing with this employer.
Keeping the above two facts in mind, should I go for a separate health insurance cover? Pls advise.

Dear Ravi, with out a basic health cover, a TOP UP cover is of no use. So purchassing a basic cover as per your own requirement ‘ll be a good Idea.
Thanks

Thanks Ashal Sir for pointing me to that article. However as per the article, top-up loans come into the picture when the existing health cover provided by employer seems less but in my case I feel that 9 lacs is more than sufficient. I just wanted to know which kind of health plan should I take which helps me if I leave my current employer. Should I take a family-floater or top-up?
Dear Ravi, please read a recent article of dear Manish on TOP UP & SUPER TOP UP covers.
Thanks
Ashal
Dear Pattu Sir,
Thanks for the reply. I forgot to mention that we are a family of four.
Another quick question: Won’t top-up cover be ideal here since most policies will have the cooling period for most of the ailments and employer provided cover can take care of them during the cooling period.
You have answered your own question. The obvious answer is yes. Get a floater plan for your family for as high an amount you can afford. be sure to increase the sum insured as much as you can each year.
