“Very High Income” comes from Influence

If you want a better salary, get better at your job.

If you want massive wealth, build influence.

Most people chasing massive wealth and early financial freedom do the same things – they keep acquiring certifications, work longer hours, and get better at what they do. And yet, they rarely create massive wealth this way.

These are different games when it comes to wealth.

  • Skill helps you create value.

  • Influence multiplies how far that value travels.

  • Ownership determines how much of that multiplied value eventually becomes your wealth.

You can only work so many hours in a day. But your influence can work while you sleep – through a business that runs without you, a brand people trust before they meet you, or an audience that hears you even when you’re not in the room.

That is one of the biggest differences between earning a good income and building lasting wealth.

And influence does not mean becoming famous.

A coder builds influence when their work improves a product used by millions. A salesperson builds influence when their words can earn the trust of a major client. A manager builds influence when their decisions improve the performance of an entire team.

You don’t need to quit your job to build influence—you need to move from being known for completing tasks to being trusted with important outcomes.

Whatever your position, the question is: How many people, decisions and outcomes does your work influence?

So where do you build influence?

  1. Move closer to bigger decisions: Inside any company, there is a version of the same game. Junior employees are usually paid for completing tasks. The people at the top are paid for making decisions – decisions that affect the entire company, not merely their own desk.

The higher you climb, the more people, money and outcomes your judgment touches. A CEO is not paid 50 times more because they work 50 times as many hours. They are paid more because the consequences of their decisions are exponentially larger.

But to convert that influence into serious wealth, even a senior employee needs some form of ownership -ESOPs, equity, profit sharing or compensation linked to the value they help create.

  2. Build influence at scale: Social media is one of the fastest ways today to reach and earn the trust of a large audience.. An audience is leverage – it means thousands or millions of people hear your words, trust your recommendations, and act on what you say. That’s why an average creator with two million followers earns more than a brilliant one with a thousand. Advertisers aren’t paying only for talent. They’re paying to access the attention and trust you have built.

  3. Start a business: A business allows your skills, ideas and standards to create value through other people and systems. Every employee carries your standards into rooms you’ll never enter. Customers who trust your brand arrive already inclined to buy even before they have spoken to you. You stop getting paid for your personal effort and start getting paid for how far your name and your systems can travel without you.

Notice what all three have in common.

None of them depend on skill alone.

They are about making your skill travel through people, systems, reputation or distribution. They are about becoming someone whose decisions, name or voice reach more people and whose judgment people trust enough to act upon.

But reach alone is not wealth.

Wealth is created when you also own a part of the business, brand, platform or economic value generated by that influence.

Here’s the mindset shift.

Stop asking only, “How do I get better at what I do?”

You should continue improving your skill but your personal output will eventually hit a ceiling.

Start also asking, “How many people can my work reach? How deeply can I earn their trust? And how much of the value I create do I own?”

Your personal time is limited. But reach, trust, systems and ownership can scale far beyond your own working hours.

Skill can get you a good job. Influence can help you build businesses, brands and opportunities. Ownership is what converts that scale into personal wealth.

And when you consistently convert that wealth into assets that can support your lifestyle, you move closer to financial freedom – a stage where your life no longer depends entirely on your next salary, your business income or the hours you personally work.

So if you are serious about financial freedom, don’t stop sharpening your skills. But also start building your reach, your reputation, your systems and your ownership.

Because working harder may increase your income.

But making your value travel beyond your own time and owning a part of what it creates is what can eventually make your time your own again.
