Hi Experts,

I had found your website while searching some answers and then on i had been following this.
I would like to get organized too 🙂

Below are my details for your reference:
Age: 27
Marital Status: Married (for 1.5 yrs)
take away Salary: 40 K per month
EPF: 1800 per month
Loan Status: Not availed any (want to home loan may be after 2-3 years)
Mnthly Expns: 25K
LIC: yrly premium abt 10K (not sure of sum assured)
Mediclaim: Star Health of about 4k premium covers 4L (employer has provided mediclaim too)

I had traditional defensive approach towards savings and had been keeping my money into RDs and FDs initially because i wanted some amnt in FD as reserve. Now I would like to explore more options.

I want to run an RD of 4K (which i can later put into PPF for tax saving) and Below is the list of SIPs that i have short listed:
1)ICICI Pru Focussed Blue Chip – 3K
2)HDFC Top 200 – 3K
3)SBI Emerging Business – 3K

Could you suggest the amounts break up that i think are correct and if there are any other options along with these which i can invest in or better any better SIPs. I have moderate risk appetite.

Please let me know if you need any infromation from my end.

Deepak, its good to start early 🙂

Before starting you should know why are you investing, what is your goals, what is your time frame.

The funds you have selected if good for long turm. Instead of ICICI Pru Focussed Blue Chip, I would prefer Quantum Long Term Equity Fund or Franklin India BlueChip Fund.

    I have some suggestions :-

    1) Before investing in any product first spent some time on learning about the product.
    2) Invest in Mutual Funds for long term and do some research.
    3) Create some emergency fund and use it only in emergency (emergency means do or die situation)
    4) Never ever purchase ULIPS, Money Back Insurance Plans, Guaranteed return Insurance Plans and Endowment Insurance Plan.
    5) Purchase pure term insurance.
