ONMyself Bedanta Bayan, 35, having a working wife and a 1.5 years old daughter. Our monthly income is around Rs. 38,000/-, out of this we manage to save around Rs. 18,000/-.
Lately I have decided to invest in SIP (after reading jagoinvestor.com) around 3,000/- per month for Long and Mid Term Wealth Creation.
Can you please suggest any Debt and Equity fund suitable for me. I have Gold fund in my mind for long term investment. But, I am totally blank about the Mid Term investment.
Please suggest, that will save three lives.

Hi Bedanta,
Investing in mutual funds depends upon your risk appetite. Please keep in mind that no one guarantee sure shot returns in MFs. Invest in equity funds if your risk appetite is moderate to high, invest in diversified equity fund. Invest in debt funds if your cannot take risk or can take minimal risk.
i can’t advise you on your mf selection, but advise to think before investing in gold through gold fund for long term, as you would loose the weight of your gold by more than@1%per year( of wt. of gold at start of the year) by way of expense ratio, irrespective of physical gold price., and so for 20 yrs, you may loose good a/m of gold.
