ONDear Sir,
I am holding investment in following ELSS & sector scheme of Mutual fund,
1) SBI Magnum Tax gain scheme 93-dividend option -Purchase NAV – 54.29 Jan & MAY 2008.
2) Sundaram Tax saver fund – dividend option –Purchase NAV – 15.89 Jan & MAY 2008.
3) Reliance Tax saver fund -dividend option –Purchase NAV – 15.49 Jan & MAY 2008.
4)JM Basic Fund – dividend option –Purchase NAV – 29.55 Jan 2008.
5)Reliance NRF Fund – dividend option –Purchase NAV – 10.23 Jan 2008.
6) TATA Indo-Global Infrastructure fund-Growth option.-Purchase NAV – 10.00 OCT 2007.
My horizon period is 15 years.hence should i stay invested in above mutual fund or redeem & invest in another mutual fund.

Dear Mahesh, as all the funds are long term holdings & being Eq. fund, the loss ‘ll be LTCL, hence you can’t set off your LTCL from these Eq. funds.
Sorry dear no tax benefit on these funds if loss is booked.

Thanks for your reply,
As per your suggestion if i sold the MF,approx i making a loss of Rs. 30,000/-.Hence can i show the loss while filling income tax return for the F.Y. 2011-2012.
