Call from CGIA – Is it fraud ?

Sir,

Today i got a call  from Rahul Sharma (8742912908) asking ,did i receive a cheque for about 48000 in the month of Dec 2013 for some insurance policy (which i don’t know).

He said he an agent of CGIA and confirming whether i received the cheque r not?

Is this CGIA really a genuine Org?

    I have read a post like this in subramoney.com…. trying to find it….but didn’t find it….

    What the post says is….. First one will get a call saying that they are from some insurance regulatory like IRDA…. they will speak to you about some insurance claim rejections that you might have faced previously…. they will tell that they will help you to get your claims now… to do that they want some money….. As you fell they are trustworthy, you will give the money to them in a belief that you will get your claims…..

    Two days will pass…. after that how hard you try, you will not be able to trace that persons….. You money is lost again…..

    So, be careful…. if you are not familiar with what he is telling…. better avoid him….
