Query regarding PF withdrawal before 5 years

Hello all,

If we withdraw our PF before 5 years, there might be tax imposition on the withdrawal amount. If the person goes for higher studies within this 5 years, and like to withdraw PF, is there any relaxation for them. Any answer related to this, would be appreciated.

    Dear Krithika, the plain answer is NO. No matter you opt study leave or simply resign to be with your family, PF amount is taxable if withdrawal happens before 5Y period.
