Require Inputs on my Investment – Please help me in 3 questions

Hi

Before asking my queries,First of all, thanks for providing such a nice forum/platform to discuss things about financial planning.

Here are my questions.

As part of Monthly investment, i am investing Rs.8000 as part of SIP every month (for the last 1 year) in RD and it is getting matured Next month 🙂

So, my first question is

1). Since the amount will be around Rs.1 Lakh, the only option that i can think of is starting an FD for this 1 Lakh (for 1 year). Please let me know whether i have any other option other than FD to deposit this amount. Also,Please consider this points

a). Liquidity should be more (In-case of emergency, i should be able to take this amount)
b). Expected to give decent returns (might be between 8-10%)
c). Risk can be low similar to Liquid funds.
So, kindly let me know your suggestion on this.

And my Second question is

2).Since I will be left with Rs.8000 from next month, whether i can divide this amount and put it into Liquid Fund and RD.

a). For example whether i can deposit Rs. 5000 in Liquid Fund (since most of the funds have minimum Investment as Rs.5000) and the remaining Rs.3000 in RD.
b). Or is it advisable to invest the entire amount Rs.8000 in Liquid fund only.

Please consider this points for this question as well.

a). Liquidity should be more (In-case of emergency, i should be able to take this amount)
b). Expected to give decent returns (might be between 8-10%)
c). Risk can be low similar to Liquid funds.
So, kindly let me know your suggestion on this.

Thanks and Regards,
Gopinath.
