I booked flat an under construction SRA project in Mumbai in July 2012 and have till date paid 30.75lacs to the builder. the project is not yet got Commencement certificated. so no construction work has begun yet. Now builder asks me to pay service tax for amount paid till date.
I am concerned that in absence of registered agreement – can the developer ask me to pay service tax ? What caveats can i take to protect myself , should i have to pay the service tax? else he threatens to cancel my allotment.
