Which health insurance is best to get?

POSTED BY swathy ON April 16, 2014 10:06 am COMMENTS (9)

A friend of mine is looking at getting a health insurance for him and his parents. Since there are many in the market, he is sort of not sure which would be the best plan. His parents are over 50 years of age. So an insurance which would benefit them considering their age would be great. TIA

Dear Braze, thanks for clarifications. Claim settlement ratio has no meaning if your personal case falls in claim denaial category. 🙂

Regarding inclusions and exclusions, you may opt Oriental happy family floater.

    Hi Abhinav,

Thanks for enlightening me regarding various technical terminology of HEALTH INSURANCE. I am young investor in health insurance. As a layman I need a common health benefits. I dont have specific requirements. Kindly suggest me the one.

    @Ashal,
    By saying BEST I meant-
    Claim settlement ratio.
    Inclusions and exclusions of benefits.
as we are younger and most plan subtract their benefits according to age.
As a financial advisor thats why i asked the BEST plan which goes life long.
    thnx

    Hi Brajesh,

Please contact Medimanage guys to help you decide the best health insurance.
    Ho
There are couple of health insurers who offer maternity benefits. However, almost all of them have waiting period for the same. If i am not mistaken, Max Bupa has lowest waiting period of 2 years for Maternity benefits.

Also, please understand that helath insurance is a highly need specific product. There is no absolute BEST or WORST product here. Please discuss with Medimanage guys and shortlist few of them and then zero in the one with whom you feel comfortable.

Few compnonents which should drive your choice are-

    1. Network hospitals in your area
    2. Loading (Please google this term and understand it properly)
    3. Co- Pay
    4. List of Exclusions/Waiting Period

    All the best !!

    Regards,
    Abhinav
