Investment options in current times – Which asset class is better ?

Dear All

What all are investment options available in current scenario

1) Equity MFs – 3 years returns are around 5-7%

2) Debt MF -relatively better

3) Insurance esp LIC  6-7 %

4) PPF 8.5 %

5) FD – 6-7 % (tax adjusted)

In last 6 mths none of the asset class is performing well and all the long term returns of 3/4 years have been washed out.   Can we discuss about the same. Please share your views

    Sensex hit 20000 in 2010 and we have been around there since. Instead of looking at 3 and 4 year returns if you look at 5 year returns it is handsome (Incidentally Lehmann Brothers went bankrupt on Sep 15, 2008).

    If we can know what will happen in 6 months we can all make a lot of money, right? Check out some old discussions in the forum:
