Assuming someone is expecting a lumpsum of say 50k-1L every 6 months as a bonus from company or reward or anything like that, what is the best way to invest this lumpsum?

Lot depends on how long you want to remain invested. Are you ok with Market risk?
What kind of returns are you expecting, Please provide more details so that you get precise answer.

    Suhas,
It all depends upon your investment outlook. If you are happy to invest this amount for long term, then you can invest the lumpsum into a liquid fund and do a STP over 1 year period into an Equity Mutual Fund.
