When to sell…a hard question

POSTED BY TheZionView ON April 7, 2011 1:08 pm COMMENTS (2)

I have few stock holding which stands and 35% and 25% profit. After i had bought these share in last 3 months i have seen them moving from -20% to +35% in profit.I am fine with not having that money in near term and can hold it for 5+ years.

What should be criteria for selling any stocks is it profits goal or based on valuation or any other factor?

    @Prabeesh,
    i would suggest next time when you buy a stock first identify the selling price of it..
    which means am giving you more work before you put your hard money into one company..:):)..i have tried that and it gives me immense confidence on my assets…in the times of high and low..

    Hold on the stocks if it is wonderful company bought at attractive valuations.
    Sell the stock if
    1. company’s financial and its sector are deteriorating continuously
    2. If another great opportunity available to park the fund
    3. you are in need of funds
